Thing 16

Wiki's are new to me. I found the 'Wikipedia' site and enjoyed looking around. I found a site that had 'plays'. I looked at some of the plays of Alan Ayckbourn (one of my favorite authors). Here I read about many plays he had done. One of them, "Relatively Speaking" I may try to order to read. - I also ran across some interesting entries with ideas from teachers. Do we have a wiki up and running here in AISD?

Thing 15

I really enjoyed watching the Disney copyright video. I thought it was a good example of using things out there in a responsible manner. - It is a must see for those interested in viewing current copyright laws in a fun manner.

I also read the article: "Where will the next generation Web take Libraries?" - A change is required in this modern era of Web 2. Libraries must change or become obsolete. Are our school and local libraries making these changes? Is our district moving in this new direction?

Thing 14

I looked at some sites of "popular blogs". Having been caught up in the Olympic Games I decided to read some blogs on this subject. I found some really interesting things. I read about a girl from Africa participating with one leg - as well as people's thoughts about some of the current topics (the age of China's female gymnists, the 'bad luck' of the US track team, etc). Of course reading one blog will take you to other places and I wound up reading news about Obama's VP running mate, etc. There is sure alot out there. - I am going to include a picture of my daughter Jodi at the 'Bird Nest' at the Olympics (go girl).

Thing 13

I spent some time looking around Technorati, Library Thing & Del.icio.us - found myself reading a lot of interesting articles, but did not feel the need to set up my own account on any of these sites.

Thing 12

I did set up a 'ning' account (haven't used it yet).

I got really bogged down in the Rollyo assignment. I do have an account set up there also. I tried to get it up on my tool bar, but have been unsuccessful in that endeavor.

I need to move on...

Thing 11 - I really enjoyed playing this geography game. It was tricky and I was amazed at how far off I was. This would be a good game for 'older' students of social studies.

I also found a nice site to make books - but had trouble posting it on my blog.- I am off to discover more.

I have had a really busy summer - and am behind on all my assignments. I did get on and play around with all the images and added some pictures from my vacation to my blog, along with Tigger here to encourage me to finish this up.

Thing 9

http://www.atozkidsstuff.com/
I found this site with lots of Early Childhood stuff - I tried to post it on my Blog, but haven't quite mastered that yet. This is fun. I need to get up and do some other stuff, I have been reading things on MY Google reader all morning. Need to move on with other things in life (like getting dressed).

Thing 8

Well, I have set up my Google Reader account and downloaded some sites - news, celebrities, fun... then I got hooked into reading all the items that popped up. One could spend alot of time just sitting and checking out things. This was fun. I even got on my daughters Myspace account...

Thing 7

This summer I was lucky enough to take a trip to Hong Kong and Vietnam. My daughter is now living in Hong Kong. She is my adopted daughter from Vietnam. She wanted to show me the county of her birth. It was a great trip. Here is a picture of my daughter and me with a Japenese father and his son after the tour of the Cu Chi Tunnels near the former Saigon. - Technology was the way I was able to stay in touch with family and friends while I was there. It was nice to be able to access my e-mail - to send daily journals and photos of my trip. My family and friends could stay in touch with me also.
I have sent pictures of my trip using my Flickr account. This site has been easy for everyone to access. In addition I am able to use Skype and my video cam to stay in touch with my daughter no matter where in the world she is. She is a flight attendant for a private company and flies all over the world. What a way to stay in touch! - I am active in our local theatre. I am able to go on-line and find the music I want to use for productions and download the music to a CD. WOW!
I appreciate the opportunity that AISD has given us to learn more about the technology that is out there for us to access. This has been a fun project. Stay tuned, Cindy

Thing 6

I have been playing around on all these sites all afternoon long. I did some interesting things, but have no finished project. The one I liked best cost $75. Do I need any finished product? If not, I am going to move onward. -

Thing 5

Got home from my trip to Hong Kong and Vietnam. Got back on my computer and checked out Flickr. Posted some of the pictures of me on my vacation. Go check it out.

Too cool. I sent the site to some of my family and friends. What a great way to share the photos locked in your computer! Gotta get busy on the rest of my "things".

thing 4

I sent my blog site to Jen and Shirley. Shirley already looked and made a comment - thanks. Do I need to register it with the California folks?

thing 3

I came right home and set up my blog. Putting in the avitar was the hardest part. That is me (in my young/thin dreams) at the Grand Canyon. I love to travel. I am leaving next week June 11 to go to Hong Kong and Vietnam. My daughter is living in Hong Kong. She was born in Vietnam. She wants to show her Mama. I am really looking forward to the trip. Maybe I can put some info on my blog while I am there. (If I can use my daughters computer - not taking my laptop.)

Thing 2

I have read (and listened) 'Lifelong Learners'. I think that I definately am one. I look forward to learning more this summer about the internet possibilities.

Thing 1

I have read the blog and am ready to get started.
